Dixon Kits

We are pleased and excited by the acceptance of our foam-wing kits. We feel these are the best overall value on the market! The Quick-Build wing system assures a straight, light wing every time. The Time Machine design has become a new standard in performance... just ask the guy who has flown one! If you are looking for a design to try a four stroke, you can do no better than the Time Machine.

Our other kits are contest winners too. No one provides a wider range of modern and classic competition kits than we do. We can also provide pre-built components, or even fully finished aircraft. (Call or write for quotes).

Thanks for your willingness to try this “new technology!"

NOBLER KITS

I am pleased to announce the availability of three versions of the famous George Aldrich designed Nobler.  These all accurately replicate the outlines and aerodynamics of the originals, but are coupled with my "Quick-Build" foam wing technology.  The construction techniques are per serious competition scratch-build style; not the lowest cost.  Each kit has its own unique wing core - the same design in not adapted to each kit.   Prices are not low, but they are an outstanding value if your time matters.   You'll not have to replace any wood in these kits. . . nor anything else, for that matter.

1952 NOBLER - Model Airplane News published version.  52" span, 2" longer inboard wing, and OTS legal, of course.  M.A.N. plans included for reference.

1957 NOBLER - TopFlite kit version (green box).  50-1/2" span, 1" longer inboard wing.  Simplified contest construction a la Cipra, Silhavy, etc.  TopFlite kit plans included.

1968 GIESEKE NOBLER - Bob's Classic legal modified version, from plans by Netherland's Paul Tupker. 1" longer inboard wing, wheel pants.

Kits include Sig and Lone Star contest balsa, superb foam core, foam-compatible CA glue for wing sheeting, all hardware, including adjustable leadout guide and tip weight box, all nuts and bolts, and CF tube rear pushrod.  Finished weights should come out in the low 40 ounce range.  Recommended power,a Double Star .40 Classic or Dixon OS .40FPS.

Also available: Foam cores----------------------$35.00
                        Plans----------------------------$10.00

ALL Nobler Kits-------------------------------$175.00 ea

CUSTOM BUILDING

I am again in a position where I can custom build models for you. With lessening of value of appearance points and B.O.M. rule in most contests, this is a viable way to go if you want an expert quality control line stunt model.  I can even test fly and flight trim the plane for you. No one else doing custom building is an Expert class flyer, with many contest wins. No one else has the in-depth knowledge of what works, and is reliable and long lasting.

I prefer to finish models in ultracote film (wings and tail) with light fiberglass and paint on fuselages. This type finish got 19 appearance points at 2007 Brodak Meet and 17 in 2008 on the same model (my Pegasus in Jan. '08 F.M.) This type finish stands up over time, and is both lighter and easier to repair if needed.

Most models can be built in this way in 4 to 8 weeks. Pricing depends on complexity of the design/time spent, but in most cases a finished test flown 40-46 size will will I about $800.00 plus engine, tank and spinner costs. ( I can use your currant engine if you wish.)

You can have an ARF for three or four hundred dollars, truly ready to fly.  Or you can have a model of the design you want, at truly expert quality, for a reasonable amount more. Which do you think is a better value??

Wood - Balsa & Other

After Lone Star Models' facility burned in late 2007, I arranged for my wholesale supplier, Bud Nosen Models, to ship wood direct to you if ordered through me. Nosen is only a supplier to dealers and manufacturers, and does no retail business.

In the past I said "use Lone Star's advertisements in Model Aviation to figure your price."  However, as always, prices go up and the Lone Star pricing is no longer applicable. Instead, send me (mail or fax) a list of your needs, I will figure a price, and get back to you by phone. If satisfactory to you, send me a check, money order or cash and I will have Nosen ship your wood.

We can supply excellent contest balsa, plywood, motor mount stock and other woods at a fair price. Even light planks and blocks are available most of the time. (Remember, contest balsa is the rarest, and most sought after and may not always be fully available.)

Nosen Models cannot sort through and hand select by grain or other specifications for you. They simply are not set up to do this. Nor can they supply 48" contest balsa. However, in the six plus years I've been purchasing through Nosen, I've never received any unusable wood.

Because of this type of arrangement, there is a $80.00 retail minimum to make it worthwhile for me or Nosen. Wood doesn't spoil, so stock up! !
